About me

Hello and welcome.  Are you feeling stuck, isolated, anxious or depressed? Life doesn't always go to plan and can leave us lost, hopeless, and experiencing low self worth. You may find the problems you've been facing compounded by the changes in our current world.  I'd like to help. I am a qualified experienced counsellor who works with a range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, low self esteem, relationship problems and stress.

I believe that looking after the mind and body is essential for our well being and my approach looks at caring for both these parts of self. In therapy we look at whatever areas of your life are causing you distress and we work together towards growth and change. I will provide a space where you feel valued, heard and understood and where you can honestly explore the troubles you are experiencing.

I offer face to face counselling as well as on line via Zoom or Skype. But whatever the media, counselling can give you the inner strength you need to make positive change in your life. With support you can move forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of East London and am a member of the BACP.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I first moved to England over 20 years ago from New York. Since then I have also spent some time living abroad in Barcelona, but have called England home since in 2003.  I feel my life experiences from each part of the world contribute greatly to how I see the world and to who I am as a counsellor.

Below are some testimonials from past clients...

"Thank you for the past year. It's been intense, but 100% worth it. You're an amazing therapist; I wouldn't be "here" and "me" without you."

"I can't thank you enough from the bottom of my heart for helping me finally be free from the terrible illness that is depression. With your help I have got to a place I never thought possible and for the first time ever feel truly free and able to live a happy life"

"Thank you so much for the process you have taken me on over the last year. It has truly been life changing and has really enabled me to find joy, peace and a new enjoyment of life."

"Our sessions have helped me enormously and have equipped me to deal with many difficult situations in a way that has allowed me to process the sadness, but walk away feeling I've made steps in the right direction, with no regrets."
