About me

I am an integrative counsellor and clinical supervisor having had experience of working with adults, children, young people and couples covering a wide range of issues such as depression, trauma, abuse, anxiety, bereavement, low self esteem, low confidence, self herm, stress, bullying, addictions, mental health, relationship issues and more. I currently work with adolescents and adults.

Working as an integrative counsellor means looking at your concerns and needs and  working in a way that suits you best by integrating techniques, and helping to focus on body sensations, thoughts, emotions and feelings.

I currently work from a safe, comfortable space running a private practice working face to face, online via zoom, or other preferred platforms with adults and young people.  I have worked within a primary school counselling adults and young children, together with supervising individuals and groups. I also work with an Employee Assisted Programme helping with work related issues and helping to keep people in work whilst helping with any issues they may be experiencing.

I have previously worked for a local college providing support for adolescents and adults with learning support needs.

Through having counselling and training and working through my own trauma and loss, this has enabled self awareness & understanding. This means I can work in a variety of ways which can help with difficulties or challenges that life throws at you, and to help get your life back on track. This would be working in a way to suit you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and ASIIP (The Adlerian Society of the United Kingdom and the Institute for Individual Psychology). I adhere to their guidelines and ethical framework.

I have been approved to be on the first psychological therapists' register to be accredited under the new scheme set up by the Department of Health. It has been approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.

My counselling expertise includes working as a voluntary counsellor for a secondary school in Cambridge working with adolescents; providing counselling for staff and children together with supervision for staff at a local primary school; providing counselling for clients at a local registered Debt charity; providing counselling for referrals to a local counselling business, counselling children within a primary school and also accepting short term counselling for a registered provider of choice for psychological assessment and treatment, together with taking on short-term counselling for EAP (Employee Assisted Programmes) companies.

I have a private practise based in Godmanchester working from a safe, warm, non judgemental, private and confidential environment. Sessions are held online via various platforms.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
