About me

Whatever's on your mind, talking and being heard can make a real difference and I offer a safe, confidential space where you can do this at a pace that suits you. You may be feeling stuck and confused, overwhelmed by your emotions, anxious or depressed.  You may be struggling to cope with change – the end of a relationship, a bereavement, job loss or parenthood. You might not know what the problem is – just that something is not right. Alternatively you may be interested in therapy as a form of personal development.

How we would work together -

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist which means I am trained to draw on whichever approaches are the best fit for you and the issues you bring to counselling. It’s your story and I try to provide the right conditions for you to tell it and feel heard and understood. My role is to help you to explore your feelings and thoughts in way that promotes insight and self-awareness, and to support you as you work towards greater clarity and understanding

Talking about how you feel and being heard is at the heart of therapy. Beyond this, it may be helpful to consider unhelpful life patterns and gain new insight into habitual ways of thinking and behaving. We can also explore fresh perspectives, different possibilities and strategies for change and growth. Working together we can explore where you are now, where you would like to be and how you can work towards getting there.

Counselling can be open ended or time limited (typically 6-24 sessions). This is something we can discuss and agree on at an initial session. Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes and take place at the same time every week.

I am currently working online and face-to-face.

I also offer Clinical Supervision to trainee and qualified therapists, individually and in groups.

What next? -

Please contact me by email or phone and we will arrange an initial session during which we can find out a bit more about each other and decide whether to go ahead and work together. You will also have a chance to ask about anything else you aren’t sure about.

My north London practice is easily accessible by bus and tube from Muswell Hill, Crouch End, Islington, Archway, Tufnell Park, Highgate and Hampstead.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
