About me

Hi my name is Debbie and I am a fully qualified BACP registered person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist.  I work at Rodney Street Liverpool and provide counselling for individuals and couples

Throughout our lives we experience difficulties that we may find hard to deal with. Knowing that you are not on your own and talking through your emotions can be helpful.  I offer a supportive and empathic approach to create a confidential, respectful and safe environment for my clients to explore areas of their life that may be preventing them from moving forward and getting the best out of life.

Some people come to me with known problems and others just know that they need to speak to someone but are not sure why. This is completely normal.  Deciding to see a counsellor can be a difficult decision, but there is nothing to lose by coming to counselling and potentially everything to gain.

I offer a free consultation over the phone or face to face which enables you to decide if I am the right counsellor for you.  I offer both short term counselling (around 6 sessions) and longer term counselling. During our first session we can look at what you feel is right for you and this can be reviewed throughout our work together to ensure that the therapy is working for you.

I have experience of working with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, abuse, addictions, adoption issues, anger management, bereavement, cancer, depression, divorce, health related issues, identity, loss, personal development, redundancy, relationships, self-esteem, self-harm, sexual identity, sexuality, stress.

As a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) I am listed on the BACP register for Counsellors and psychotherapists. I receive regular supervision giving you reassurance that I am an ethical practitioner. I also carry professional indemnity Insurance.  I also regularly attend CPD (continuing professional development) events to ensure I am up to date and knowledgeable in all areas of counselling and psychotherapy theory and practice.
