Deborah Briggs. BSc (Hons) Counselling and Psychotherapy. MBACP
I am an experienced therapist offering friendly, confidential and professional help for clients experiencing challenges in their lives. This may be from within personal relationships, both current and past, or distressing events or situations. My role is to help you to overcome the natural human responses such as stress, depression and anxiety.
I have been working as a therapist for more than 15 years. I am a Specialist Consultant Psychotherapist for an N.H.S clinic in London. This involves working with some people who have experienced severe traumatic events. I also work with people who have a wide variety of issues, as a private therapist in Leicestershire.

Additional experiences that may make me suitable:
- I have extensive experience of working with clients who self harm.

- I am also an Author and Editor of the book "Living with the Reality of Dissociative Identity Disorder: Campaigning Voices" published by Karnac Books Ltd London (2014) Ed Lady Xenia Bowlby and Deborah Briggs.
The first assessment session costs £35 and can last up to 1hour. My fee is currently £50 per hour.
Supervision is offered at £60 per 90 mins.
The type of support I offer is Relational, Integrative and Holistic. After meeting with you, I may decide it is appropriate to integrate several other types of therapy, which we can discuss together.
Experience has taught me how difficult it is for people to come to therapy and the degree of trust required. My office in Market Harborough provides a safe and private environment in which we can work together.
I recognise how difficult it has been to come to terms with the fact that you need help - that is the first step. The second step is working out what kind of help you need and from whom? Working in the profession for 15 years has brought me into contact with a lot of different professionals with different specialist areas of expertise. If after we have spoken I am aware of anyone else who may be more suitable to see you, then I will happily recommend them to you as I seek to ensure everyone who comes to me receives the best help possible. Whatever emotional pain you're experiencing, I do believe there is hope for healing.
