About me

I am a registered BACP counselor, Certified Transactional Analyst, and UKCP accredited psychotherapist. I have over ten years of experience working with: anxiety and depression, panic attacks, loss and loneliness, confidence and esteem, trauma, parenting issues, relationship difficulties, food related problems and a general lack of well-being/satisfaction in life.

I run my practice from the City Way Health Clinic in Rochester and Relationship Services in Sittingbourne. There is easy access by public transport and road. There is also ample parking at both sites.

It is my belief that as human beings we can 'grow and heal' from the difficult and distressing places that we find ourselves in. By enhancing all our inner capacities and raising self-awareness we have the potential to live a life of meaning and purpose rather than the life we were programmed to live.

I work with individuals/couples/parents of all ages. I also work with teenagers.

Training, qualifications & experience

Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA Clinical)
UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist
BACP Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist
PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education)
BA (Hons) Art and Textiles

I began my clinical training in Transactional Analysis in 2002. I started to see clients in 2005 and developed a private practice in Strood, Kent. I have recently moved my practice to the City Way Health Clinic in Rochester. This has given me the space to work with groups. I am a teacher and educator running workshops that engage clients, trainee counsellors, healthcare professionals and the general public. I run and co-facilitate interest groups such as anxiety, depression, anger and food related issues.

I have worked as part of the Medway weight management team (Tipping the Balance) offering short term counselling, CBT interactive workshops and psycho-educational groups.

Between 2006-2012 I worked offering short term counselling to parents in Medway through the Medway Children's Centres. At the same time I facilitated training to parents and co facilitated the BRIC project (Building Relationships in the Community) bringing children and parents together. I have also worked for Medway Adult Education (family and well-being) running sessions for parents who wanted to develop their parenting skills.

Further information

My professional development (CPD) has been extensive over the years following my needs in supporting my role as a therapist and also my interests. Most recently I have attended a seminar on Traumatic Stress and the implications of neuroscience research. In relation to this I am interested in the links being made with yoga practice and mindfulness.

I also have a particular interest and extensive experience in 'anxiety' issues and continue to update my knowledge and practice in this area.
