About me

My name is Debbie and I am a creative practitioner who believes each and everybody is unique, and this is why the sessions I offer are fluid and will be shaped by 'you'. There is no right or wrong way and what suits one person may not suit another, so working in partnership is key to a successful counselling journey.

I have been working with people suffering with eating disorders for over 2 years and believe there is recovery from this cruel and isolating illness. I also currently work in two organisations supporting people with eating disorders and their carers.

I have 5.5 years experience of working with children and families in a supportive role and will soon finish a systemic family therapy course, so have an interest in supporting parents to cope with stressful family life, whether in the younger baby years to the roller coaster ride of  teenagers and women who have encountered or going through hormonal disturbances such as PMDD or PMS/PMT.

Having described the above, I do also see clients with a other issues such as depression, anxiety, abuse, family issues etc as more often then not these are entwined with one another.

What will happen in the session?

We can meet for an informal chat which is free and you are able to ask any questions and gage whether you think we could work together.

How many sessions can I have?

We can discuss this at our first meeting, but I would offer say 6 sessions at a time which can roll on. This I feel offers flexibility and an opportunity to be able review how the sessions are working for you.

How much are the sessions?

I have a sliding scale and again we can discuss this, but I can vary it depending on your situation. My rate starts at £20 phr
