Finding a therapist can be a challenge. One fact that might assist is that decades of research has shown again and again that it is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client that has the most measurable impact on the outcome of therapy. On that basis I offer an initial meeting at no cost to provide an opportunity for us to get to know each other a bit, determine if we feel comfortable with each other and discuss what you would like to address and how.
It can be difficult to make a decision to come into a therapeutic relationship, but it is only by taking that first single step that the opportunity for positive change is born. My approach is integrative, which means I am able to draw from a wide range of models and techniques in order to address your specific needs as a unique individual. Central to this approach is the application of awareness in the present moment, in order to slow down the usual pace of experiencing. This can allow the identification of patterns and conditioning that are often hidden from view during the usual speed of life. This inquiry occurs in a warm, safe, non judgmental and gently reflective space that will support you in exploring whatever themes have motivated you to come.
I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period with the aim of addressing your own goals. Ideally the process will lead to an enhanced sense of freedom, peace, integration and empowerment in your life.
In terms of credentials, I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, MA in Core Process Psychotherapy and am registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I am insured, in regular supervision and abide by the BACP & UKCP Codes of Ethics. I am experienced working with clients both in private practice and with clients at a Social Enterprise in East London.
I have been practicing mindfulness & meditation since the 1980's and have experience of training individuals and groups in meditation, in addition to delivering workshops for those living with illness and injury. Over the last 20+ years I have worked in large global corporations in the City of London.
My private practice is in Palmers Green (N13), accessible from Palmers Green (Overground) or Southgate (Underground) stations.
