David Nott FDAP Addictions Counsellor
Addiction counselling for individuals and family members in Hampshire and Dorset
David has lived in Hampshire for all his life. He and his wife have been married for 15 years and they have two children together.
David had a successful career in the City of London and was a Marine Underwriter at Lloyds. David suffered from drug and alcohol addiction and following inpatient treatment has been in Recovery for over 23 years.
David changed career and wanted to give something back to others suffering from drug and alcohol dependency and decided not to return to the City. He started as a peer supporter at the Priory and following a FDAP qualification in addictions counselling was ultimately made the Addictions Treatment Programme Manager at the Priory in Southampton. A post he held until 2006.
At that time, David felt there was a need for a specialist addictions unit in Hampshire and he was a co-founder of The Manor Clinic in Southampton, which, today, is still a centre of healthcare excellence. In 2011 David had to leave the Manor Clinic as his young son was diagnosed with ADHD and required specialist home treatment.
From 2011, David has offered individual counselling and help and advice to those with an alcohol or drug dependency.
David has extensive knowledge of Treatment Centres, not only in Hampshire but throughout the UK and abroad and is fully conversant with an inpatient treatment programme provided by Clinics and ongoing counselling support.
David was the media spokesperson for the Priory Group and the Manor Clinic. David has spoken about addictions, addictive behaviour and inpatient treatment at the House of Lords. David has appeared on local and National television, local and National radio interviews and has countless articles in local and National newspapers where he has been sought for his professional advice and up to date information on addictions and treatment for addictive disorders.
David offers counselling, in Hampshire, by appointment and his practice is strictly governed by the FDAP code of ethics.
