About me

It can take a level of courage to take that step and seek help, however, I can assure you that I am dedicated to assisting you overcome any issue that you may feel is causing you distress.

I am an experienced Counsellor/Psychotherapist, I have worked in Kings Lynn. I worked as a High Intensity Counsellor for Mind as well as providing for my private practice. I have worked for NSFT well-being service for a number of years. I work predominantly in a person centred way and will assist in you in taking those steps forward to live a life more meaningful to you and work towards a greater sense of well being. I provide a safe, supportive and confidential service. I am bound by the BACP code of ethics and standards.

I provide counselling online and have spaces currently available.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and hold a Mental Health Certificate. I am in addition Mental Health First Aider.

I have spent the last 14 years working in both primary and secondary care services within the NHS in Essex and Norfolk. I am trained as a integrative counsellor, predominantly favouring a person centred approach to counselling as this is a humanistic therapy and offers you, as an individual, the time and space to make your own decisions, I feel that through my facilitation you will feel more empowered within the therapeutic relationship.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - specialising in psychosis, dual diagnosis and personality disorders, and have also completed training in Dissociative Identity Disorders. As well as Mentalisation level 1 & level 2.

I have a professional advanced diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a diploma in Neurolinguistic Programming.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
