There are so few places where the ordinary suffering of life can be spoken about with dignity, and treated with respect. This is why it is important that your counsellor is someone you can trust, and feel relaxed with. You need this especially when you are going through painful and difficult times, and when you'd like things to change for you in some way.
Whatever your reasons for counselling, having the kind attention of someone who doesn't judge you, or try to fix things, can begin to soothe the soul. You need to be able to choose what to talk about, and to go at your own pace.
By talking about difficult feelings, situations, and experiences, we can begin to see that what may appear to be a hopeless problem can also be a message from the deepest part of ourselves. With acceptance, appreciation, and understanding, we may move beyond the known, beyond the patterning of the past, and towards a greater sense of self that has inherently more hope and more joy within it.
"There is a secret love hiding in each problem." *
Together, we will listen for its call.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am an experienced, BACP registered,* professionally qualified counsellor. I work with individuals on an open-ended or a fixed-term basis, primarily with adults who are experiencing change, crisis, or upheaval in their lives.
I trained at Re-Vision in Integrative Psychosynthesis Counselling. Known as 'psychotherapy with soul', this approach draws on a range of psychotherapeutic traditions in order to respond sensitively and creatively to an individual's unique character, circumstance, and calling.
I am experienced in helping clients who have had difficulties with:
Major life changes - bereavement, loss, trauma, abuse, burn-out, redundancy, mid-life, separation, identity issues, personal growth, and unfulfilled potential.
Relationships - relationship breakdown, dependency, conflict, jealousy, envy, abandonment, loneliness, isolation, communication problems, manipulation and abuse.
Emotional well-being - stress, anxiety, depression, grief, despair, hopelessness, anger, frustration, guilt, shame, fear, stigma, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, mood swings, destructive and compulsive behaviour and self harm.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how we would work together.
Areas of counselling I deal with
- Carer support
- Child related issues
- Family issues
- Low self-confidence
- Low self-esteem
- Passive aggressive behaviour
How do I start?
Come for a one-off, no obligation session. This is the best way to decide if you like me, feel you can trust me, and you only have to commit to one fee (£40). We can talk about your situation, what you want from counselling, and about how we would work together. This is usually enough for us to know whether we want to continue, and I appreciate that you may want a few days to think it over.
How much will it cost?
I ask for £50 for a 50 minute session. I appreciate that this is a significant investment in yourself, and in me. I currently have the capacity to offer concessionary rates. Please contact me for further details. I ask for payment at the end of each session.
