Sometimes emotions and relationships can feel overwhelming. You might be experiencing anxiety, depression, panic, phobias, hopelessness or having relationship problems, and while I strongly believe that you have the capacity to overcome these problems, at times, it may seem too big or too messy or even impossible to know where to start. Therapy can support and accompany you as you to make positive changes and regain control.
My name is David and I am a professional, caring and passionate Person-Centred Counsellor, Therapist and Anxiety Technician. I provide a friendly and engaging service that is tailored to your individual needs and goals by utilising a range of therapeutic, restorative and psychosocial interventions that are designed to:
- Promote positive personality growth
- Reduce anxiety and distress
- Improve mood and emotional well-being
- Restore relationships
- Increase confidence and self-esteem
- Achieve and maintain recovery from addiction
- Help manage upsetting or negative thoughts
- Gain a deeper understanding of feelings and behaviours
- Develop coping skills for stress and conflict
Therapy can be ongoing, open-ended counselling or might be a targeted, time-limited piece of work focused on specific goals and typically lasting between one to twelve sessions.
Our work together begins with a brief phone consultation, giving me the opportunity to answer any questions you may have about the service and start to get to know one another. We could then organise a no-obligation assessment where we can discuss what you wish to gain from treatment and agree on an approximate amount of sessions required to achieve your goals. This assessment is usually free of charge. Together we will explore your needs, goals and expectations, and, if you decide to go ahead, we'll design and implement a treatment plan.
I work with adults, couples and young people (aged 14+).
My goal is to make therapy with me as effective and accessible as possible. As such, I offer sessions both face-to-face and online.
Face-to-face appointments are delivered in both Great Yarmouth and Caister. However, I am also happy to provide alternative arrangements including outreach/home visit options.
For online sessions, we will discuss set-up and privacy limitations prior to starting. I can guide you through requirements regarding location, software and equipment; the process is relatively quick and easy.
