Hello, I am David, 38 from Newcastle upon Tyne. Having worked in an NHS practice for the past six years, I have opened a private practice in Jesmond for new clients.
I am analytically minded and value the fostering of relationships through regard, authenticity and humour. I will be sensitive towards and understanding of any thoughts or feelings which you find confusing or are struggling to deal with.
I hold a postgraduate qualification in psychotherapy. My principal theory is Transactional Analysis which offers an intuitive and very powerful set of concepts we can use to develop an understanding of how and why you function the way you do.
I believe in a person centered approach and can apply a range of theories in an integrative way. I value psychoanalytic, analytic psychology and existential approaches. As we progress, I put psychotherapy alongside other domains of knowledge and understanding which you may find useful.
I provide a safe and relaxed private space where you can explore and express yourself. Subject to our therapeutic goals, I will question, interpret or challenge as we build a picture of your situation and its meaning.
Please get in touch if you would like to arrange an introductory session.
