Training, qualifications & experience
Hello, I am Dave, the lead counsellor in a successful and well thought of private counselling practice which currently enjoys a well-founded and growing reputation amongst private and NHS health professionals
I am a fully qualified and registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), am on the BACP's Accredited Register and have :-
A CPCAB Diploma in Integrative Counselling
A CPCAB Diploma in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
A Certificate in REWIND therapy (for flashbacks/nightmares/phobias)
I have also worked for a number of years as a counsellor in several busy Wirral based GP practices, which brings with it a huge variety of both general and specialist issues.
I have also been employed by the Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centres covering North West England and North Wales
I have worked at a centre looking after the interests of people with drink and drug dependency issues, and have worked extensively with suicidal people.
The 'Rewind' therapy that I use is particularly effective for all types of trauma, and is especially useful in cases of PTS where flashbacks and nightmares occur.
I feel I can now bring these skills and experiences together to offer you an exceptional service at my private practice
Hi I’m Kate, I am an experienced, professional and welcoming Counsellor, I have worked with many different issue's and I believe I can help you take back control of your life, which, you may feel you have lost for some reason. Issues I work with include:
Relationship issues/Family issues
Whatever you feel is effecting you and your life is important to me, and together we can work to gain back what you feel you have lost. I will help you to feel like you again and enable you to gain control and regain self-belief.
Sometimes, without realising, life take's over and suddenly you don't quite feel like you? Or maybe you have never felt happy or have never been accepted by yourself or others. If you are ready to work and challenge the negative and irrational belief's which hold you back, then you can regain your life and enjoy your future.
I have a CPCAB Diploma in Psychodynamic Therapy which looks at Past experiences and how they have effected your life today. You will be gaining a greater understanding of yourself and why you feel the way you do?
I also have Post-Graduate Diploma is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which is very much focused on the " Here and Now" and challenges all of those irrational beliefs you may have and negative attitude's which are effecting your life. We will look at those and together change the thought processes for a greater more positive future.
I am a friendly, welcoming person and I love people. I understand life and the weird things it throws at us and I would be happy to be a part in helping you create changes in your life.
I have also done a lot of work with people that have alcohol, drugs and homeless issues. I look at the issues that are behind the alcohol and drugs and build self-esteem to slowly get you back into society.
Thank you for taking the time to find out a little bit about me and how I can help. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
