Profile

I am a qualified, professionally accredited and experienced Counsellor / Psychotherapist offering general counselling and specialising in relationship issues.  I work with couples and individuals with their relationship and personal problems.  For many years I have worked with Relate in parallel with my private practice, and continue to do so.  

Typical issues include: not getting on, arguing and communicating poorly, affairs, sexual problems / losing interest in partner, separation / divorce and impact on children, handling major transitions and life changes, depression / low mood / anxiety / panic, low self-esteem / self-confidence, addictions, work / life balance, abuse (in relationship or affects from past experience), difficulty with relationships.

I am also a qualified and experienced NLP Coach, working with people in their work and home environments for over 20 years.  In addition to offering specific coaching help to individuals, my training and experience enables me to help couples who want to resolve specific issues (both personal and relationship) and also those who want to make their relationships even better.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

Professional Qualifications:  MBACP (Accred), UKRCP, MA (Oxon), PG Dip (Couple Therapy), Relate Graduate Certificate in Couples Counselling, NLP Master Practitioner and Coach, MBTI Practitioner.

Professional Approach:I use an integrative style of counselling, which basically means flexing my approach to best match the specific needs of the client(s) at any moment. Therapeutic approaches I have trained in and use are Psychodynamic Therapy, Systemic Therapy, CBT, Person-Centred Therapy, TA and NLP.  My Relate training has focused on being skilled at working with couples, families and individuals, and also working with complex issues such as those involving complicated families and relationships, sexual problems, mental health problems, abuse and addictions.

Experience:  I have counselled privately and with Relate many hundreds of couples and individuals over nearly 10 years as a professional counsellor. Prior to that I worked with people and groups in a number of capacities including coaching, mentoring, training, managing, and supporting personal development.
