David Anderson PG Dip, MA, BTh, MTh, MBACP
As a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist to masters level, alongside my work for the NHS, I also run a small private practice in Grimsargh, Preston. Here I offer counselling to both young people and adults.
For me every client is very important and for this reason I only have a small number of clients at any one time. It is important to me that clients know that they matter and I offer them the very best I can, as I seek to be alongside them. As a therapist and person, I work hard to ensure clients feel supported, valued, and understood, regardless of whatever they are experiencing at that moment. Together, at a pace that feels right to the client, we explore the things that are important to them, seeking to gain insight and acceptance.
I have experience in supporting clients with a range of issues including: bereavement and loss, illness, relationship breakdown, unemployment, abuse, self-harm, exam pressure and a range of mental illnesses, including depression and anxiety.
Having experienced counselling myself, I understand that the first session can be hard, even daunting, however it can also be the first important step in moving forward and finding the strength that you need.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Fees are charged at £30 per hour. I seek to keep fees low to ensure that counselling is accessible to as many people as possible, having experienced the positive impact counselling can have on people's lives.
Sessions last one hour and take place in the calming surroundings of my garden room.
In the summer months we often also use the garden area.
If you are interested in exploring if I am the right person to support and be with you at this time, please email or text and we can arrange to have a brief chat on the phone if that would be helpful, or arrange your first session.
