Danielle Scott, MA, MBACP
Life can sometimes feel like you are carrying a heavy weight around. This may be from certain life events or you may not be able to make sense of it. Counselling can give you the space to unpick and try to better understand what's going on for you, in a confidential, non-judgement way. You may be feeling low, anxiety, grief and loss, low self esteem.
My approach is predominately psychodynamic counselling which involves exploring your past and how it may reflect who you are in the present. You may have painful or difficult feelings, patterns of behaviour or relationships that are repeated, this is often originally from your past. It can sometimes be difficult to make the connection or understand why these difficulties continue to affect our lives.
Presently, as well as working in private practice with adults, I work as a counsellor and play therapist at a youth counselling service. In this setting I work with children and young people between 5 and 25 years of age, within schools.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a highly qualified psychotherapist and counsellor; I hold a Master’s degree in Contemporary Therapeutic Counselling and a Diploma and Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I am continually learning and growing and therefore attend CPD workshops throughout the year to extend my knowledge and practice.
