I am a professional psychotherapist and counsellor with about 30+ years of experience in a number of different settings and with a number of different client groups. I work mainly with adult individuals - sometimes with couples - sometimes with adolescents.
I currently work in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders; both in the NHS and with private clients. The orientations of my work come from Body-Oriented Psychotherapy, Humanistic Psychotherapy, Transpersonal Psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Phenomenological Psychotherapy and Counselling.
I am also a Counselling Supervisor and I work with people in Spiritual Emergencies and Crises.
Training, qualifications & experience
My training and background was originally in Body-Oriented Psychotherapy, but I have also trained in Humanistic Psychotherapy and Transpersonal Psychotherapy and as a Counselling Supervisor (Univ. Edin. COSCA-accredited).
I am a registered UKCP psychotherapist; also registered with the European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP); accredited and registered with the European Association for Body Psychotherapy (EABP); and a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). For 17 years, I was a resident psychotherapist at the Findhorn Foundation, a spiritual and educational community in NE Scotland.
Since 2003, I have also worked in the NHS in departments of Clinical Psychology and in GP practices in 3 different NHS Trusts in the Central Belt of Scotland.
