Profile
Hi, my name is Colette Etheridge and I am the owner of Small Steps Counselling Service. I would like to welcome you and thank you for visiting my page. I am an accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist holding a Professional Accredited Counselling and Psychotherapist Advanced Diploma, awarded with Distinction. I am a member of The National Counselling Society and adhere to their code of ethics and I am fully insured to practice.
My aim as a Counsellor is to work with my clients as they take steps to make a positive difference to their life. It is my belief that by taking small steps to make a difference to your life, you can be empowered to take control of it. My aim would be to work with you to change the negativity and stress of daily life into positivity, enabling you to cope with life's changes.
Please see my website for full details of how we may be able to work together and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
I work using an integrative approach ensuring a wide range of approaches to suit the needs of the client.
I am based in Gloucester, close to the M5 junction providing easy access to Cheltenham and Stroud. I am now able to offer a Counselling Service from rooms in both Cheltenham and Gloucester.
My background is in health care, working with parents to work towards building positive relationships with their children. Much of the work involves deep reflection opening up a pathway to improve and build on family relationships.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
3 year course resulting in an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Pyschotherapy
Diploma in Hypnotherapy
Accredited Group Leader of 2 parenting programmes, Incredible Years and Teen Group Triple P parenting programme.
I have 5 years experience working with families building on and improving relationships between parent and child. This is done by way of an intensive researched programme.
I am also experienced in working privately with clients, providing a confidential and professional counselling service. I work collaboratively with clients, and this forms the basis of all the counselling and parenting work I do. I do not "teach" but work with families and clients to improve outcomes.
