Clearthink Counselling: Jim Deere & Stephanie Fortescue
Life can be challenging sometimes. Depression, anger management, alienation, addiction, grief, trauma, and anxiety; these are words we are hearing more and more in our everyday lives. If you think any of these issues could be affecting you, we can help. Clearthink offers discreet and professional counselling services in Brighton and Hove. Please see our website for more information on the issues we can help with: http://www.clearthinkcounselling.com/
We provide a safe, professional and non-judgemental environment to discuss any issues you may be facing. It is an attentive and empathic space in which to reflect and explore insights and interpretations along the way. We can discuss any material or themes that you bring to the session, whether they relate to the past or the present, and explore how these may link together and inform a deeper picture of the issues you are facing. We take a non-prescriptive stance, which focuses on intuitively and dynamically cultivating a more connected relationship with oneself and those around us.
You may choose to target a specific issue or take a more open focus. The number of sessions can be time-limited or open-ended. During our first session we will discuss these details and, once agreed, they can be reviewed along the way.
Training, qualifications & experience
Jim Deere and Stephanie Fortescue are both qualified psychotherapeutic counsellors and registered members of the BACP.
Stephanie Fortescue: I completed my post-graduate psychotherapeutic training at Brighton University, during which time I worked within the LGBT community. Prior to this I worked providing rape victim support, as well as in general psychotherapy clinics within the East Sussex area. I also have a BA (Hons) degree in Sociology and part Psychology, and an earlier career background in teaching.
Jim Deere: I am influenced by several theoretical perspectives: Jungian, psychodynamic, humanistic, mindfulness and Buddhism. My core training is psychodynamic, which draws from psychoanalytical theory and neuroscience to create a relational, empathetic and highly insightful therapeutic method. Prior to counselling I have a background in teaching.
