About me

My name is Marlena and I am a very warm, open, understanding and non-judgemental counsellor and therapist. I want to help people free themselves from their pain so that they can create better lives for themselves. My aim is to help my clients gain a better understanding of themselves and their problems. Once we have more insights into the whys and hows, we can change, grow and live happier, richer and more meaningful lives.

Seeking support is a very brave act and can be especially difficult when we already feel like we’re struggling. I highly respect that and provide a safe, private and confidential counselling experience that meets your needs. You will be able to honestly explore and connect with your thoughts and feelings in the trusting space we create.

You don’t have to carry on as you are. Counselling is a healing process that leaves you feeling calmer, happier and more in control of your life. Together we will face and heal your pain. Together we will find ways to make your life better.

I am fully qualified and experienced in working with clients of all ages and with a wide range of presenting issues and symptoms. I have worked within the NHS, at a rape and abuse charity and at a local secondary school as a school counsellor to 11-18 year olds. I am also highly experienced and skilled in specialist topics such as trauma, childhood abuse, shame, codependency, attachment trauma and relationship issues.

I have completed three years of postgraduate study in integrative counselling and psychotherapy at Masters level at Derby University, am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and conform to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy (2016).

Everyone is capable of experiencing peace, love and happiness. Everyone is capable of living a rich, full and meaningful life. You were born happy. It is your default setting. You just need to know how to access it. Let me show you how.

Call me on 01283 348 194 or email to book your session with me to start working towards a better life today.
