Clare Venner MA(Hons), MA, FdSc Counselling, MBACP
Are you looking for support at a difficult time? Are you trying to cope with painful feelings that are affecting your well being and relationships? Counselling can help enormously and is proven to change lives.
It takes courage to make that initial call or write that email but please don't delay any longer. The sooner you get started the sooner you will be feeling better.
I am an experienced counsellor, warm and down to earth. I am passionate about what I do and find it very rewarding.
I am married with two teenage children and an assortment of animals. I love the outdoors.
I offer a safe, calm and confidential environment in which to work with you. We can explore your worries and concerns and I can help you move on to a better future. No matter what you bring I will not judge you.
My counselling room is a converted stable in the heart of the South Shropshire countryside. It is easily accessible from Cleobury Mortimer, Clee Hill, Tenbury Wells, Ludlow and Kidderminster.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a degree in person centred counselling and this is the basis of how I work. I provide the core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence (genuineness) in which to build up a trusting therapeutic relationship. I am led by the client and respect their autonomy.
I do integrate other skills and techniques when appropriate to the work such as elements of psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) transactional analysis (TA), and mindfulness.
I have a particular interest in addictions born out of personal experience. I have worked for Pathways to Recovery and Aquarius Shropshire in recent years, helping individuals over come the harms of alcohol.
I have been a counsellor for North Worcestershire Bereavement Support (NWBS) since 2011, helping people deal with the loss of a loved one.
