About me

Living in the rat race of life isnt always easy. Some choices we have to make are difficult and can become overwhleming; causing anxiety, exhaustion and feelings we are unsure how to handle.

Everyone is different in how they deal wiith life, even though we may have experienced the same things such as the death of a family member, we all react differently. My aim is to work with you to understand how you're feeling and offer you support in a safe, confidential environment.

Friends and family often think they have the answers, offering advice and having opinions based on their own experiences. Sometimes its having an ear that won't judge, interrupt or tell you what to do.

I use a collaborate and compassionate approach enabling you to manage difficult thoughts and feelings empowering you to take back control of your life.

I work Integratively, combining various therapeutic approaches to tailor an intervention to your specific wishes and needs. Through our work together you can develop your own coping mechanisms, take away a toolbox of useful techniques and enhance your confidence to deal with what comes your way in future.

Training, qualifications & experience

Level 2 Counselling Skills
Level 3 Diploma Counselling Skills
Level 5 Diploma Therapeutic Counselling

I have covered a range of different topics such as loss, anxiety, depression, alcohol and substance misuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, work stress and relationship issues.

I currently work as a substance misuse worker with under 18's working in schools and visiting them at home.

Previously I have worked with adults who have been addicted to drugs and alcohol, where it has been a coping mechanism for them. Most were drinking to cover up traumas they have suffered, it was my aim to support them with their addiction and how to come to terms wiith their past, being with them on their journey to be themselves again without substances.

This has taught me a lot in my career and certainly helped me along the way to become a qualified counsellor.

Due to the job I do and have done in the past I have attended many courses on child abuse, domestic violence, mental health, suicide, safeguarding and many more.

I have a genuine passion in wanting to support people in difficult times creating a warm and pleasant environment to talk in.
