About me

I am a qualified Counsellor, and a Registered Member of BACP (Registered MBACP).

Please note due to COVID-19 I am working with clients over the phone or online. My face to face appointments are all suspended until further notice.

Are you looking to gain some clarity in a particular area of your life?
Is something stopping you from feeling happy and satisfied?
Perhaps something needs to change?

I believe taking care of our mental health and well being is one of the most important gifts we can give ourselves. The space I offer is welcoming, safe, confidential and non judgmental. It is a place where together we will explore what is troubling you. Voicing, untangling and making sense of how you feel with a qualified professional can enable clarity in a number of areas like understanding yourself more; understanding what you want and need; making decisions; learning how to manage and cope with certain triggers and taking steps forward to enable you to lead a happier, more fulfilled life.

I have successfully helped clients seeking counselling around:

  • Bereavement & loss
  • Relationships (family members or partners)
  • Anxiety
  • Lack of confidence and low self esteem
  • Depression & low mood
  • Stress

I offer both open-ended and fixed term counselling. Open ended means we can work together for as long as you feel you need counselling, or until we mutually decide we have gone as far as we can go. Fixed term means we can agree a fixed amount of sessions at the start. The aim of both is to give you the space you need, and the time to talk.

Following your initial enquiry, we would have a brief chat over the phone around what you are seeking counselling for. We would then meet via Zoom for a 50 minute face to face initial consultation (this would normally be face to face) This is for us to discuss you in a little more depth, what you would like to work on in your sessions, your expectations of counselling, and for me to explain how I work as a counsellor and the service that is on offer. This is a no obligation meeting for both of us to see if the fit could be right and if this could be the right place for you. My fee for the initial consultation is £50

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
