Clare Burley BA (Hons) MBACP
I work with adults and young people on a one to one basis on a range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems and pressures of work. These can really affect your quality of life. Sometimes life can be a struggle, sometimes it can be difficult to cope, other times we want to make changes, but aren't sure how or when.
Coming for counselling is entering a safe and supportive space, dedicated to you. A place to share your thoughts and your emotions in confidence, to express yourself, talk and explore difficulties from the past or present. I offer you a caring and warm environment, to listen with respect to what you want to bring, in your own time.
Initially we will explore your reason for coming for counselling and what you would like to use the time for. I would like to hear how things are for you now, from your perspective. By working together, therapy has the potential to open up new possibilities, gain increased self awareness and new ways of thinking. From personal experience, therapy has been a source of inspiration, change and comfort.
I am an Integrative, Relational Counsellor which means that I draw from a range of theoretical knowledge, including Humanistic, Psychodynamic approaches and Cognitive Behavioural techniques. This helps me adapt to your individual needs and I aim to engage in what is meaningful to you. I love this work, it is a privilege to be alongside someone during their journey, to observe and support another to make changes.
I offer short term and long term one to one, face to face counselling, dependent on your needs.
