There are times when we all feel stressed, anxious or overwhelmed. Counselling or talking therapy is a way for you to explore the thoughts, feelings or issues that you are experiencing in a safe, confidential environment. Coming to counselling can be a difficult step to take, but once we have established a trusting relationship, you will start to take the steps towards making the change that you want.
I am an integrative, humanistic counsellor having studied different theoretical fields and as such, believe that everyone has the capacity to make change. I believe that there is not a ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to counselling so I have lots of theories to draw from. By working together, I will be able to tailor my support in the most appropriate way for you.
I am able to offer short or long term counselling, depending on your need. I have experience of working with adults and young people with a wide variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, life changes, bereavement and relationship difficulties.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been working in a supportive role within education for the last 17 years so have a wealth of experience of not only working with children and young people but also supporting the parents and staff. I have experience of working in a counselling agency and recently worked at a local university supporting their students.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and as such I work in accordance with their ethical framework. This means that I uphold their principles and standards to ensure that my clients’ wellbeing is my utmost priority.
