About me

Through my training I have gained specialist knowledge in CBT and psychodynamic approaches to therapy. However, my practise is largely integrative which allows me to draw upon other modalities (e.g. mindfulness, and humanistic) and psychological theory when necessary to understand a client’s presenting issues.

I have gained experience in the private sector and the NHS and worked with a full range of clinical presentations from mild to more severe enduring emotional problems. I have worked with clients who have experienced relationship issues, anxiety disorders, depression, self esteem issues, psychoses, phobia, OCD, bipolar affective disorder, personality disorder and self-harm. I have worked with adults, adolescents and children employing both short term and long-term work depending on needs and preferences.

I feel that at the heart of successful therapy it is important to create an environment where a safe, trusting and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship can be developed with the client. I believe this is vital in the process of change to enable difficult issues to be explored collaboratively, with the aim relieving distress and enhancing wellbeing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a chartered counselling psychologist and a member of the Division of Counselling Psychology (BPS). Additionally I am HCPC registered. I have worked within both the NHS as well as other private and charitable organisations.
