About me

I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, Cognitive behavioural therapist and Hypnosis, based in Mossley. I believe in providing affordable counselling. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I comply with the BACP Ethical Framework, value people regardless of their ability to contribute to costs, their social status, ethnic origin, religious or sexual orientation and I respect your confidentiality.

I understand the demands of life, and that is why I take a more practical approach to the way I deliver support. I have vast experience in dealing with clients on a 1-2-1 basis and have one goal in mind and that is to help you feel better sooner rather than later. I know that when your mind is not in top shape that your entire outlook on life can be affected, you will always be greeted with a smile here and leave with an even bigger one on your face.

I have experience of working with children and a vast experience of working with adults who struggle in life with addictions and Mental Health, also I deal with any presenting issue that may be having an impact on your life.

If you are interested in making some personal life changes, and you want to be the person you have always dreamed of being, or even wanting help to deal with life issues, either send me an email or call me to arrange an appointment.

I offer counselling at many locations all over the North West of England, and more importantly at times that suit you.

How counselling can help

Counselling is not about giving advice or telling you what to do. It is about listening to you without judgement, enabling you to explore your thoughts and feelings. It is about helping you gain new perspectives about yourself and supporting you in resolving your difficulties as well as helping you find new ways of coping with a greater sense of control and choice in your life.

What happens in a session?

Each session is for 50 minutes, your first session is offered at a reduced rate of £20.00. The first session covers the counselling contract, confidentiality and an initial assessment. We will explore your reasons for counselling, your expectations and how we will work together. The number of sessions required will be discussed at your first session depending upon your issues and what you want to gain from therapy. There will be no pressure or obligation to continue with sessions, the choice remains with you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
