About me

Hi my name is Cindy Lowe and I am a qualified integrative counsellor and a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist. I am accredited with the BACP and BABCP.

Recognising that you may find therapy helpful is the first step to a more positive future. The next step is to find what type of counselling will suit you best.

As an integrative counsellor and CBT therapist, I work with different therapeutic approaches to suit your needs:-

The aim of psychodynamic therapy is to bring your unconscious mind into consciousness, helping you to unravel, experience and understand your true deep rooted feelings in order to resolve them. It also helps you to become aware of and understand how the past may be influencing your present.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(CBT) can help you manage your difficulties by helping you understand how your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and physical sensations influence each other. By breaking this down, you will learn how to change negative patterns to improve the way you feel.  After working out what you can change, you will learn useful and practical strategies and skills that can be used in everyday life and help you to manage difficulties and stop them having a negative impact on your life.

Person Centred Therapy helps you to explore and utilise your strengths and personal identity to overcome the difficulties that are hindering your personal development and progress. It is based on the belief that human beings have the capacity for growth and live their lives creatively and reach their full potential.

I work from home and provide a safe, confidential space to give you the opportunity to explore your feelings without feeling judged.

If you feel you are struggling and are ready to embark on a journey of self discovery and fulfillment, there’s no need to travel alone....

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BABCP
British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
