About me

I am trained in counselling, body-oriented psychotherapy and complementary therapy and have twenty five years experience of helping people through difficult periods in their lives.

My practice is based in Crystal Palace within easy reach of Brixton, Streatham Hill, Balham, Dulwich and Crodon and South East London.

I work with clients on both a short-term and long term basis, with either weekly or twice weekly meetings.  I also offer ongoing weekly psychotherapy groups.

On our first meeting I will make an initial assessment, and together we will discuss what an appropriate way to work may be.  This is open to discussion and renegotiation at anytime and is based on what you feel is right for you.  As we start the work, we will explore the issues that have brought you into therapy.  I will provide respectful, non-judgemental listening, ask questions and offer observations to gently guide your process. Through this you will have the opportunity to experience feelings, thoughts and body sensations in new ways, which will lead to insights and new ways of being.

Group Work
Exploring oneself within an on-going and committed group can be an extraordinary and healing experience.  It van give you the opportunity to redefine how you are with others and with yourself in a safe and supportive environment.

Men's Group
Exploring what it feels like to be a man, finding ways to be the kind of man you choose to be. We will create a space which allows you to be playful, serious, gentle, fierce, vulnerable and strong, and to receive the support of other men.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold the Chiron Diploma in Body Psychotherapy, and am fully accredited with the U.K.C.P. and the B.A.C.P. I also hold the City University Certificate in counselling and group work, and I am accredited with the Shiatsu Society U.K. as a teacher and practitioner of Shiatsu and oriental medicine.

I have a background in peer=counselling and community based group work, undergoing and then assisting in training, with specific experience of men's groups, and participated for three years in a training group based on movement and voice work.

I also undertook two years training as a medical herbalist, was apprentised for one year to a naturapathic clinic, and have a very thorough grounding in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
