Profile

I am a fully qualified counsellor working in Dumbarton and Helensburgh. My aim is to offer a strictly confidential, therapeutic service for people in and around this area.

In life we become overwhelmed and confused by situations and it can become difficult for us sometimes to find a way through. As a person-centred therapist I see my role as helping people to communicate what is on their minds so that they can see things more clearly. I offer a safe, caring and respectful environment for this to take place. Within this atmosphere the client and counsellor enters a relationship where the client will become more intimate with their own thoughts and feelings.

As a counsellor I have worked within General Practice, and as a volunteer counsellor with St Margaret of Scotland Hospice, Clydebank.  I also have experience working with young people in the voluntary sector.

Fees

Normal consultation session last approximately 50 minutes

The cost of each session is £35 for individuals and £50 for couples.

The number of sessions required varies from person to person. One or two sessions can be enough for some people while others need longer term work. This can be discussed at the start or can be left and reviewed at intervals.

If you are unable to attend an appointment it would be appreciated if you could re-schedule as soon as possible.

Missed appointments and those cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to paying the full session fee.

Location

I  see clients in Helensburgh and Dumbarton in very comfortable surroundings. Venues in both Helensburgh and Dumbarton are close to railway stations. There is a very efficient train service from Glasgow Queen Street to Helensburgh Central Station, and to Dumbarton Central Station. On site parking is also available.
