I am an experienced therapist and trainer having worked in the counselling sector for over twenty years providing therapy to a wide range of clients from many statutory and voluntary services. My preferred way of helping people to help themselves is through a Human Givens approach. This approach is a set of organising ideas influenced by the needs of any individual for security, attention, autonomy, a sense of community, status and meaning; and the resources we have to meet these needs.
As a Human Givens therapist I offer reliable and practical help for a broad range of issues, using the best current psychological knowledge about resolving difficulties. I can help you move on with your life as quickly as possible.
A combination of Solution focused, CBT, Mindfulness, relaxation and visualisation provide a rich resource to draw from to treat:- Depression, Panic attacks, Phobias, Anxiety and Stress, Addiction, OCD. My particular area of interest and experience is in working with trauma; many of my clients include veterans and others suffering from PTSD.
Everyone's situation is different, but I aim to take as few sessions as possible, people rarely need more than six sessions to make significant progress and lasting improvements.
