Christine Jackson - Grad Dip Couns, MBACP (Accred), Cert Supervision
My name is Christine (Chris) Jackson and I work as a person-centred counsellor offering a safe, non-judgemental, caring and respectful relationship in which you are offered the space to self explore. I offer a supportive and therapeutic environment within which you will have the opportunity to work at your own pace towards enhanced self-awareness and understanding, thereby identifying possible changes that may feel comfortable for you. I am committed to openness and authenticity which will be gently and respectfully offered. Our relationship together is important to me and I would encourage an open and honest environment so our work can be based on mutual openness and respect.
Counselling can help with a wide range of issues including relationships, work-related matters, fertility issues, loneliness, sexuality, spirituality, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, abuse, illness, loss and bereavement.
I am extremely passionate about the Person-Centred approach to counselling and believe by offering warmth, openness and genuineness creates the potential environment for a deep meaningful therapeutic relationship.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been awarded the Graduate Diploma Counselling Level 6 through Manchester Metropolitan University and am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), meaning I have undertaken and successfully passed the Certificate of Proficiency test which is designed to reflect the competent practice of counselling / psychotherapy. I undertake monthly supervision where I take my client work and supervision work to ensure I am working within the BACP ethical framework.
In 2016 I was awarded my accreditation through the BACP.
I seek and receive regular training to ensure I offer the best possible service to my clients and have evidence of an enhanced criminal records bureau check.
Alongside my private practice which is based at home in Middlewich, Cheshire I offer one to one counselling within St Luke’s Hospice, Winsford. This includes working with bereaved clients alongside patients and relatives during illness. In addition, I offer facilitation within the adult and children bereavement support groups. I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to work closely with families during such a difficult and painful time.
In addition, I have experience within the NHS IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) team based in Denton House, Northwich and Eaglebridge, Crewe where I was extremely privileged to experience a number of deep and tender relationships.
