When life becomes difficult it can leave you feeling unsure about how to cope. Talking things through with someone who isn't personally involved offers a way of exploring your situation and thoughts to help you, take control and move forward.
I believe the counselling relationship is key so you feel comfortable being open and honest about your thoughts and feelings. It takes each person different amounts of time to build this with their counsellor which is why I feel it's important you find the right one for you. I offer an initial meeting session to discuss what's lead you to counselling and how we could work together.
As an integrative counsellor, I can bring different theoretical approaches to your sessions as appropriate and offer short and long term counselling for a variety of issues. I aim to work collaboratively with you to ensure you're getting what you need from counselling. We'll work with what you bring and I offer guidance for areas to explore further.
We can work to specific goals or if you are unsure what you'd like to gain from counselling, we can use the early sessions to explore areas that might be of concern to you and take each week at your own pace.
Sessions are 50 minutes and generally held weekly however, this is negotiable to fit in with your circumstances. I offer a supportive, confidential and a non-judgemental environment which aims to help you feel comfortable talking through your issues. I am here to listen, work at your pace and offer support that suits your communication style and goals.
