Hello! I have more than 17 years experience working in counselling with individuals and with groups. I work with individuals, couples and with groups.
I can work with you by phone (I can call you) or online using Skype (webcam). While some people think that working with Skype might be a little uncomfortable, my clients report that they actually feel really comfortable talking with me and that it is very convenient for them. I am able to offer quite a bit of flexibility with sessions times, to fit with the various schedules for work that people have.
As a counsellor, I offer a safe and confidential place for you to explore sensitive life issues. I use a collaborative approach to help you to understand where you find yourself, who you are and what is troubling you. I can listen carefully and help you to assess the situation. I can help you to find the resources and inner strengths you need to address your issues, to carry on and to come closer to the things that are meaningful to you in your life. My aim is to accept you as you are, to understand you, and enter into a therapeutic alliance that is real and genuine.
I have worked with clients with many different life challenges. I have experience in working with a variety of therapies, to best suit the individuality and needs of my clients, so the counselling can be tailored to suit your particular needs and circumstances. I work holistically, which means taking into consideration all aspects of a person's life that may be impacting upon their thoughts and feelings. Counselling can be a very rewarding process. With more awareness of how we think, feel and behave we create much more choice in our lives.
I am also trained as a CBT therapist, CBT is extremely effective in working with a number of conditions, including anxiety, OCD, depression, social anxiety and phobias. I can effectively help you to find resolution to these issues through the medium of Skype.
We all encounter difficulties from time to time. When we receive caring support these experiences can ultimately enrich our lives by increasing our understanding and our awareness.
I know it is important to find a counsellor who suits you and you feel comfortable with. I suggest we have an initial free consultation (10 - 30 mins) on the phone or by Skype. We can briefly explore your current issues and then you can decide if you'd like to come to counselling with me. Please feel welcome to make enquiries. Call or send a text, or have a look at my website or Facebook page.
I am a trained facilitator in Voice Dialogue and the Psychology of the Selves. This is a great way to work with issues by getting in touch with different parts of our selves, such as the critical self, the pushing self, the responsible parent, the perfectinist, the romantic, the adventurer, the rebel. For more information please see my website.
I encourage you to have a look at my website:-

I am a member of the British Psychological Society
CBT Therapist (BABCP Registered)
As a Counsellor I have worked closely with clients over 17 years to help them with issues in their lives, and to explore the underlying problems that may have caused them. I work collaboratively with individuals to empower them to make decisions for themselves to improve their sense of personal wellbeing. I work across a range of human problems including bereavement, relationships, mental health issues and other significant life events.
I use CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) to help with issues such as anxiety and OCD, and phobias, (such as driving phobia, or fear of heights) as this therapy has shown itself to be one of the most effective with these particular disorders. I can effectively help you to find resolution to these issues through the medium of Skype.

- Emotional abuse
- Family issues

Other areas of counselling I deal with
I think there are times when may not feel that you really fit into any particular "problem area" but that you have a sense of unease, or troubling questions or thoughts, or you just feel like it would be great to have someone to talk to. You may just feel a bit lonely or anxious. If this is you, then please reach out.
I also think there are transitional times in our life which can be really stressful, leaving home, going to University, starting a new job, having a child, marriage, separations, ageing, divorce......this can be a good time to reach out, to check in with a neutral person to help stabilise your situation
There are also times in our life when we have very pertinent questions. Who are we? What are we doing here? What do we believe in? It can really help to talk sometimes. To talk and to feel that you have the space for someone to really listen and understand what is going on for you.
- Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
- Behavioural therapy
- Cognitive and behavioural therapies
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
At an initial consultation (normally from 10-30 mins), we can explore your current issues, enquire about your history and discuss whether counselling might benefit you. This consultation can take place over phone or Skype and I charge no fee.
I may be able to negotiate fees for multiple sessions paid in advance, for students and for the low waged
Normal Fees per hour (following initial consult by phone):-
£60 for online (Skype) and phone sessions
Normal Fees for 1.5 hours (90 minutes):-
£75 for online (Skype) and phone sessions
There are no contracts, no set period or number of sessions.
Practice hours are from Monday to Sunday, with evening appointments available. Basically, I will try and find a time to fit in with your life.
My standard sessions are 60 minutes but if you would prefer a longer 90 min session that is fine, many people appreciate the extra time.
I am increasingly doing more work with people by Skype or phone. Often people not quite sure about Skype are surprised at how well it goes, and find it very convenient, so I encourage you to give it a go!
