Christina Hall. BSc Therapeutic Counselling. Registered Member MBACP

City Centre Location
Hello and Welcome to my profile.
I have over twelve years successful experience working as a qualified counsellor, and appreciate the many different reasons for seeking counselling, we all have times in our lives when we may feel overwhelmed and in need of some personal space and professional support.
I am mindful of how difficult the decision to seek counselling and psychotherapy can be and work in a genuine, warm, confidential, welcoming manner and work with each client in a flexible way that will best suit the individual client's needs. I also offer supportive counselling in times of crisis for example, bereavement, trauma and any life changing experiences and have had positive feedback (below) from many clients around the understanding and empathy they have experienced in our work together.
"Just to say thank you, I feel I have been fully understood and listened to, you seemed to be able to get inside my head and understand my upset. You gave me support and understanding when I needed it most."
"You have had and will continue to have a lasting impact on my life. I felt comfortable from day one and have been able to be open and honest about my life, I was made to feel safe and no longer rely on anti depressants."
"Your listening skills and memory of my story were fantastic, this made me feel understtod fully. I also liked the way you wove the theory into the counselling which helped me understand myself even more."
I have worked as a counsellor for the past twelve years within different organisations with many adults and young people who were referred from different sources eg, GP surgeries, other professionals, self referral and word of mouth recommendation referrals. My work has been constantly evaluated and has shown positive clinical outcomes, the work has included;
*Current (6 years) Leeds Counselling; one of the city's largest counselling organisations.
* High school and further education college counselling.
*Supporting adults with mental health difficulties, depression, bi polar and chronic
anxiety, this was done within a large multi cultural organisation.
*Supporting students from the LMU studying Performing Arts.
*Working to support 'new mums' suffering Post Natal Depression.
My training is based in the Relational Approach, I hold central the relationship that I build with my clients and I also draw from the psychodynamic model of counselling which can help to make links to old and existing sometimes unhelpful patterns of behaviour. I have experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapy, which can help with 'what if' situations.
I offer confidential counselling and psychotherapy in Leeds Centre from 2 locations in a comfortable, safe environment and from a discreet, welcoming location near Wetherby, both have good parking.
I have day and evening appointments and try to offer prompt appointments.
I hope this information has been useful but please contact me in confidence if you would like any further information about my way of working, the counselling process or any other questions, I am happy to help in the best way I can.
