There are times when life just gets on top of us and we need a little extra help - especially when our confidence and self-esteem has been knocked. What I offer is a safe, confidential space where you can be heard, valued and gain insight, skills and experience to tackle life's stresses.
I always aim to offer a friendly, warm, interested and empathic counselling service. I care deeply and have a profound respect for those who come to see me.
What you get is experience - quite a bit of it - supported by a good understanding of up to date research on what makes us tick as human beings. Most of all, what I aim to offer is the ability to listen with compassion and a genuine desire to help.
The first session is free... don't suffer in silence - talking really can help.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Masters Degree in Counselling from Goldsmiths College, University of London and an Advanced Diploma in Forensic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Wealden College of Counselling & Psychotherapy. I have been a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy since 2001 and adhere to the BACP ethical codes and standards of practice.
I qualified as a counsellor in 2000 and as a psychotherapist in 2009. I work with individuals and couples across a range of issues, from compulsive behaviours (like porn, eating, gambling, or spending) to feelings of disconnection, disempowerment and isolation.
I am a former tutor at a college of Psychotherapy and I train therapists, social workers and community groups on working sensitively and effectively with people in distress.
