I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (UKCP Accredited) experienced in working with individuals with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. In addition to working in private practice I am employed by the NHS and I am a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
I have many years of experience working in large public sector organisations, counselling centres, local charities and in private practice.
You may be finding life a challenge or painful. This may be due to a current situation or something that you experienced as traumatic in the past. Sometimes you may find it difficult to cope with the demands and responsibilities of life for a number of reasons.
My aim is to help you understand and manage your difficulties as well as to equip you with various tools to help you become your 'own therapist'.
Initially we will arrange a consultation to discuss the best way forward for you. After that, counselling would be weekly for 50 minutes. I can offer open-ended or short-term therapy. I provide therapy face-to-face, via Skype, or over the telephone.
Making the initial contact can be difficult but please phone or email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Training, qualifications & experience
Following a degree in Psychology, in 2006 I qualified as a psychodynamic counsellor.
In 2011 I completed an MA in psychotherapeutic counselling.
I regularly undertake additional CPD to keep my skills and knowledge fresh, as well as attending monthly supervision sessions.
I abide by the Code of Conduct and Ethics as set out by both the UKCP and the BPS and carry full insurance to practice.
I hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate.
