About me

My name is Cheren I am an experienced Therapeutic Counsellor offering one-to-one support for young people and adults in Leeds, I provide a professional, confidential and caring Counselling service.

If you are looking for support and guidance through a challenging time or you're ready to take a new direction in your life, counselling may help you.

I provide counselling in my private practice which is based in Leeds city centre. I have extensive counselling experience working with individuals from differing backgrounds, with various issues.

Having volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Care for over four years I have considerable experience, and knowledge working with grief, loss and bereavement.

I also have extensive experience of working with anxiety and depression.

Along side my work as a Counsellor, I have extensive experience working as a Psychological Therapist in acute care care services providing extensive Mental Health Assessment.  

I am an Individual member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Being a member of the BACP means that I adhere to the Ethical Framework for Good Practice, offering the highest professional and ethical standards.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma of Higher Education in Therapeutic Counselling (BACP Accredited Course), I qualified as a Relational Counsellor at Leeds Metropolitan University.
  • Higher Education Certificate in Interpersonal and Counselling skills
  • National Certificate of Further Education in Counselling skills
  • Bereavement training a foundation Course, including Sudden and Traumatic Death and a Child's Grief. I previously worked as a Bereavement volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Care in Skipton.
  • ASSIST WORKSHOP Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.
  • PODS TRAINING DAY Trauma, Dissociation & Recovery.
  • Level 4 certificate Counselling Children and Adolescents.
  • Introduction to DBT.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

My fee for Individual Counselling for a 50 minute session is £55.

My fee for organisational Counselling for a 50 minute session is £65
