About me

Finding the right person to talk to is a really difficult decision. You need someone who is approachable; someone you can trust with your most private thoughts and feelings. How do I guarantee I am that person?

The short answer is I can't! You need to find out for yourself.

You can do this in a variety of ways - have a good look at my profile here, google me (although bear in mind that there is an Under 14 swimming champion with the same name!). Check out experience - not all therapists offer couples counselling or work with families and young people. Check out qualifications too - therapists like me have to undergo a rigorous training ( 8 years post grad) and their own therapy.

Look at the alternatives, speak to a few of us on the phone. Ultimately, the best way to decide is to book a no obligation initial session; that way you can see how and where I work and get a real feel as to whether it's a fit.

I offer a range of therapeutic services, including short term counselling, long term psychotherapy, coaching and supervision. I am a fully qualified psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and families in private practice in Bath. I’m also a qualified supervisor, working with therapists, lawyers and teachers. I also (and unusually for a therapist) have a background in law, which comes in very useful in my work as a family consultant alongside family lawyers. I work extensively with families and am a qualified young people's counsellor with expertise including autism, learning disabilities, depression and self harm. Lastly I am a qualified addictions worker, offering therapeutic help to clients at all stages of addiction and recovery.

I have worked with a vast range of clients over the years; the most common presenting issues are relationship problems, depression and anxiety. There are lots of different approaches I can use to help; meet me and we will talk through the right approach for you so I can offer you a tailor made service.

Rest assured, finally, that I am fully insured, abide by the UKCP code of ethics and receive supervision to make sure I am serving you to the best of my abilities.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
