I am a BACP Registered Psychodynamic Counsellor and can offer time limited sessions or longer term counselling depending on your needs. I have experience of working with young people and adults suffering from a range of difficulties such as depression, anxiety, stress, phobias, relationship issues, bereavement, trauma, addiction and more.
If counselling is something you have not tried before you might be curious as to what it entails and nervous of sharing with another, so it may help for me to say that my approach is open and non-judgmental. I would invite you to attend an initial session in which you can talk about what has brought you to counselling now. This session will allow you to decide if counselling might be helpful to you.
Training, qualifications & experience
After completing a degree in Psychology I felt that my passion was to work with people in a therapeutic setting and went on to discover that the Psychodynamic model was for me. Working with both young people and adults I have found it a privilege to help people manage very challenging times or face parts of themselves that they felt unable to manage alone.
If you are unfamiliar with the Psychodynamic model then it is most important to highlight that it considers an individual's experiences throughout their whole life. Our current situation, thoughts, feelings and behaviours might be linked to previous experiences and relationships and this is something that can be thought about in counselling. The ultimate goal will be to reach a point in which you feel you have a better understanding of yourself.
