Northorpe Hall Trust
53 Northorpe Lane
I provide a professional, confidential and friendly counselling service. I know from personal experience that seeking help, deciding to see a counsellor is a big decision. Naturally you have concerns and questions. I offer all potential new clients a free initial half hour session either face to face or on the telephone to discuss whatever they may be. Being comfortable with your counsellor is key to this being a positive and rewarding experience.
Free from feeling judged and criticised, therapy can be very powerful. It allows us to tap into inner resources that we all have but at times struggle to make use of.
Before we start our series of sessions we agree to a set of guidelines in the form of a contract. I will have a basic outline contract with me that we can go through point by point, making changes as required. Contracting well is my responsibility to you. It is so important that you have a firm grasp from the outset on what counselling can offer and we know what to expect from one another.
We would meet by appointment, at the same time on the same day usually on a weekly basis. Some of my clients like to work to a set number of sessions others prefer that counselling is ‘open ended’. I find regular reviews on what’s working and what’s not helps in many respects. I want to encourage you to be the focus of the therapy. I am instructed by you and the decisions about where we go are yours.
Counselling can normally be offered within one week from an initial enquiry. Please simply text or leave a telephone message or email and I will contact you to arrange a suitable time to either call or meet you in person.
