I offer a discreet and confidential service. Without judging or offering advice I listen to all my client chooses to bring; even those silent moments. Then we begin a process of exploring and understanding any issues that may come to the surface.
The process is known as a Person Centred or Humanistic approach which deepens as a warm bond of trust and empathy develops between the counsellor and client. This is known as a 'Therapeutic Relationship'. It may be painful at times but this has the potential to enable anyone to 'move on'.
It is appreciated that it may not be an easy decision to begin to seek any form of counselling; this in itself may cause anxiety. So, please feel free to contact me to chat and ask any questions you may have before taking further the idea.
If you do decide to make an appointment; each session lasts a maximum of one hour and can be booked at reasonably short notice either by phone, text or email. I can take bookings for evenings, weekends and some weekdays. Home visits are an option which can be discussed.
There is no 'rule book' which governs how many sessions are required, it is up to the client to decide on the number of sessions or frequency (although once a week is recommended). Sometimes one is enough.
My qualifications and experience also enables me to offer a supervision service to counsellors.
Counselling Supervision sessions may be booked using the above contact details.
