I am an Accredited Cogntitive Behavioural Therapist and I provide therapy to people with a range of problems such as:-

I recently moved from working within the NHS to setting up a private practice with a colleague in Media City, Manchester. I also have access to other clinic rooms in Sale, Manchester.
I frequently give presentations to groups/ companies about the benefit of CBT to help to manage stress and its effects. We also explore unhelpful patterns of behaviour and how we can establish more helpful, long-term behaviours in order to enhance our life experience.
I have an interest in weight issues and bariatric surgery [ lap band, gastric bypass etc]and I am currently involved in delivering group and individual CBT sessions for patients having this surgery at Spires Hospital in Manchester.

I have a nursing background and trained as an RMN [ Registered mental Nurse] in 1991 and I am registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
I have spent a number of years working on an eating disorders unit where I gained experience of working with Anorexia, Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorder. I then moved to work as a Cognitive Therapist within a weight management team, where I provided therapy to people who were obese to help them to lose weight. I also saw people who were planning to have bariatric surgery.
I am currently working with clients with a wide range of problems and I use a combination of EMDR [ Eye Movement Desinsitisation Reprocessing] and CBT as I see a number of clients with symtoms of PTSD following RTA's or other traumatic life events.
