About me

I believe that it is possible to make lasting changes within a confidential, focused and compassionate working relationship. Together, we can determine what is truly important to you and move towards a meaningful life with your values at the core.

I work from my home office which is a small, safe place for us to work through your issues together in a non judgemental space.

Counselling is often about embracing authenticity, becoming the person you were before social and familial conditioning. I will work alongside you, helping you to make sense of your current difficulties, to find clarity, coping skills and ways to move forward. Often this involves looking at your past and how this may influence your current thoughts, feelings and actions.

I use a pluralistic approach which means that I can draw from a range of therapies and tailor sessions towards a way of working that feels right for you.

My original training was Humanistic which has free will and ethical decision making at its core.  Overarchingly, my approach is person-centred which means that I believe that you can discover what you need to heal if you are given the right conditions.

However, ultimately, life and change are always relational and it is the relationship between individuals that is at the core of any therapeutic intervention. I look forward to meeting you and accompanying you on this part of your journey.

Areas I can work with:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Loss
  • Trauma
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Phobias
  • OCD
  • Self esteem issues
  • Addiction

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
