About me

Are you feeling angry, anxious, overwhelmed or suffering from low mood?

Has something recently happened to you that you need to talk about with someone who won’t judge but who can help you make sense of things?

Perhaps you’ve had a traumatic or difficult experience that you need to talk over?

Maybe you wake up each day feeling unfulfilled and have a sense that there must be more to life than this?

It may be that you are experiencing something new, such as parenthood, which is bringing up uncomfortable memories of your past?

Whatever your presenting concern, I provide a confidential, safe space for you to reflect on your goals and explore areas that you want to address to move forward in life in a more fulfilling way. Either you can come and see me in my consulting room in Langton Green, just outside of Tunbridge Wells, or you may prefer to access counselling with me via webcam, or indeed a combination of the two depending on your circumstances.

I am experienced in dealing with anxiety and depression, which may be a product of unresolved issues in the past, or triggered by more recent experiences such as bereavement, change of career or relationship breakdown. Counselling provides a valuable opportunity to talk and reflect on these issues.

Research has shown that the relationship between the counsellor and client is one of the most important factors in successful counselling, I therefore offer a free initial session for us to meet and discuss your needs and expectations, and during this time we can decide together the best way forward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

Initial consultations are free and last up to 30 minutes via zoom or on the phone – further sessions last for 50 minutes and are charged at £60 per session.

I have some lower cost places available, please contact me to discuss this and to arrange your free initial consultation.

For some a brief course of counselling to reflect on a specific issue is enough to start with (anywhere from 6-12 sessions), while others may want to explore their feelings, thoughts and behaviour patterns in more depth, in which case I can offer open ended counselling. We can discuss your individual requirements and any concerns during the consultation session.
