Cath Muston, MA, BA (Hons), PGDip, MBACP (Accred)
I am an accredited member of both the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Accredited Voluntary Register (AVR). I abide by the BACP's Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. My approach is psychodynamic. This involves us working together to uncover the less conscious aspects of your thoughts, feelings and emotions, so that you can come to understand yourself more fully. This greater insight should help you to make long-lasting changes, so that you can lead a more fulfilled life.
I will provide you with a safe and confidential space to reflect on your emotional difficulties, uncover patterns of behaviour, address difficult feelings and move forward into meaningful change.
I have worked in the NHS in a large GP practice and I am currently Deputy Clinical Lead of a growing Henley-based counselling agency. I have experience of working with a wide range of emotional difficulties and offer both short-term and open-ended counselling which is underpinned by the BACP Ethical Framework.
My areas of expertise are set out further down.
It may be you have a specific problem or a general feeling of being 'low'. Perhaps you feel that talking to friends and family isn’t enough - or that you’ll be judged and criticised.
You may think that there isn’t anyone you can turn to. If you are in this position, you can talk to me.
I am a professional counsellor who is experienced in listening emphatically and objectively. I won’t offer direct advice or judge, but I will help you to gain greater understanding - and make sense - of what is happening.
