About me

Hi, my name is Catherine and I am an integrative person-centred and cognitive behaviour therapist and an EMDR therapist.

Life can get difficult at times and counselling can help you through these difficulties. I will walk alongside you with any issues that you are carrying and together we will find the best solution that is right for you. I believe everyone has their own answers and I will help you find yours.

I work mainly as a person-centred counsellor and EMDR therapist, working with your individual needs, supporting you through our work together as you develop a greater understanding of yourself. I may use various techniques like relaxation and different strategies to look deeper into the  problems in your life affecting thoughts and behaviour.

I may send things home with you to extend our counselling hour, giving you techniques for life.

As a counsellor I offer you my genuineness as we build a relationship and trust. I will create a safe and confidential place for you to open your issues up and listen without judgement as we begin to move forward.

My clinical supervision is offered in an empathic manner, bringing in support, trust and challenge, allowing progression in your individual style of working.

Thank you for reading and please don't hesitate to call if what I offer is for you.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
