About me

I'm an experienced Integrative BACP Accredited Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Fusion Therapeutic Life Coach,  Rewind Technique Therapist and EFT Practitioner. I work with adults and young people (16 +) and have a special interest in working with clients experiencing health anxiety, generalised anxiety, depression, PTSD and panic attacks. In addition to practising privately I have extensive experience as a school therapist working in an alternative education provision supporting young people with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.

Initial Session
Taking the first step to contact me might feel daunting. I recognise the importance of you finding a therapist that you feel comfortable with. Therefore, I offer a no obligation initial session. This session is charged at the full fee rate.

Fast Trauma Relief

I am also qualified in using the Rewind Technique for clients with PTSD, flashbacks, anxiety and unwanted involuntary thoughts. The Rewind Technique has become internationally recognised as indispensable to treat PTSD www.iartt.com. It usually requires no more than two sessions to bring about closure for single traumas. The results are enduring - a follow up of two years showed no relapses in that period of time, it has an over 90 success rate. The Rewind Technique works with any trauma such as abuse, bullying or PTSD which results in unwanted thoughts and flashbacks. It works well for both survivors and onlookers, which makes it an ideal treatment for veterans and the services fireman, police and ambulance.

The traumatic event has entered your brain but it has not become a memory under your control. The memory of the traumatic event comes round whenever it feels like it and so is re-lived over and over again.

The Rewind will make it a memory that you can decide to visit or not.

I work with clients who:

  • Understand the need to appreciate themselves
  • Want to live a meaningful life
  • Are committed to their personal development
  • Want to be free of past trauma
  • Want to be HAPPY

Walk and Talk Therapy - On a Monday daytime would you prefer your therapy session walking around the park or along the canal instead of in a traditional setting?  We literally move while helping you to move forward.  Detailed below are the benefits we get from exposure to natural light (lux effect.)

On a twenty minute walk light travels through the retina onto the brain and has an
immediate effect on serotonin, the feel good hormone. Indoors is 50-100 lux per hour. Outdoors on an overcast day is 7-10,000 lux per hour and on a sunny day is up to an amazing and uplifting 100,000 lux.  So even on a dull, overcast day we still benefit from being outside.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Working with Caroline has quite literally been life changing! I went from being completely debilitated with complex PTSD and chronic fatigue, to getting back into education and even enrolling in salsa and bachata dance classes. This was something I would never have been able to do prior to the extensive work I did with Caroline. The rewind technique is the most beneficial technique I have ever come across for trauma and it got me from being too afraid to leave the house, to embracing life again.

Whether it be working with complex trauma, counselling or coaching, Caroline seamlessly and effortlessly integrates her wisdom and extensive skill set to meet you exactly where you are, and therefore you can make really big shifts relatively quickly. Working with Caroline was invaluable and I would recommend her to anyone. Thank you so much Caroline for helping me get my life back.

————————————————————-

I have been seeing Caroline for about 18 months and I have found her to be thoroughly professional, using a variety of techniques and suggestions which have been very helpful to me. She is also a very nice person who is also most supportive, encouraging, and praises achievements. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her
