Profile

Carole is a qualified, highly experienced Psychotherapist at an advanced stage of training as a chartered Counselling Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS). Working in independent practice, Carole offers clinics in London, Southampton and Winchester.

With over five years experience in a specialist Adult Mental Health service in the NHS, Carole is well experienced in working with severe and enduring mental health difficulties such as; anxiety, depression, stress, eating disorders, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, bereavement and many more general concerns with life. This affords her a good working knowledge of NHS mental health services should they be required.

Working to the highest standards, Carole offers a confidential service based on well established psychological theory, literature and up to date research evidence. Central to this is a deep respect for client’s individual life experience and the importance of developing a secure and trusting therapeutic relationship. Her philosophy is one that is underpinned by humanistic values, informed by psychoanalytic theory and existential thinking.

Carole has an MSc in Counselling Psychology and is qualified to apply a range of psychological models including Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Integrative and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She is also able to offer Mindfulness Meditation either as part of therapy (MBSR and MBCT) or on its own.

As a member of both the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), Carole abides by their Code of Ethics. She also has a current CRB enhanced certificate enabling her to work with adults, couples, children and adolescents.
